Paul O. Mora
Paul O. Mora went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 6, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer, at home surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born to Andrea Ortiz and Federico Mora on June 7, 1927, in Fort Morgan, Colo. Paul and Ruth Guzman were married on Nov. 6, 1944, in Wapato, Wash. Paul and Ruth made their home in Quincy in 1957. He retired from Schaake Feedlot after 30 years in the cattle industry.

Shizue Yamane, 75, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Samaritan Hospital. On Friday, April 13, a viewing will be held at noon, funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., at the Moses Lake Convention Center, with Rinban Hoshu Matsubayashi presiding. Interment will follow in Warden at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.

Edith Mae Edwards, 84, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rose Street Chapel, with Bishop Frank Bruneel of the Moses Lake 3rd Ward conducting. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake. Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. The family will greet friends at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
Greydon LeeRoy Hemingway
Greydon L. Hemingway passed away April 5, 2007, in Chewelah, Wash., at the age of 90. Greydon was born on May 6, 1916, in Chadron, Neb. He was the son of Roy and Amelia (Whetlauffer) Hemingway. He was raised and attended school in Chadron and attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. Before the start of WW II, he worked at the naval shipyards in Bremerton, Wash. He married Fern Hardy in Alliance, Neb., and they made their home in Bremerton. At the end of the war they moved to Moses Lake and Greydon worked as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, working on Grand Coulee Dam and many of the other Columbia River dams. He retired in 1981. In 1997 Fern, his wife of over 56 years passed away. Greydon moved to Chewelah in 2002. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and hunting as a pastime.

EPHRATA — Dustin Gene Abrams was sentenced Wednesday to 24 years in prison for the March 2004 killing of 79-year-old Michael B. Mallon, a retired state employee and World War II veteran.

God sent us an Angel on Feb. 8, 1927, and he called her home on March 22 ,2007. Marie M. Hutchens passed away at her daughter's home in Spokane, Wash. Marie was born in West Hamilin, N.W. to Raymond and Myrtle (Stratton) Salmons. She was the oldest of 12 children. She was schooled in W.V. In 1960 she moved her children to California. In 1978 she moved to Moses Lake, Wash. to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was the guiding hand in the raising of their children. She spent her last two years of life with her oldest daughter and son-in-law at their home in Spokane, Wash.

Raul G. Garza was born May 16, 1944, in Garza Gonzalez, N.L., Mexico to his parents, Gregorio and Nicolasa Garza. He spent his childhood along with his seven siblings (Josefina Garza, Guadalupe Garza, Santos Capetillo, Gregorio Garza, Nicolasa DeLeon, Eva Hernandez, Eugenio Garza) and received his education in Mexico, until the family migrated to the United Stated in 1953.
