Jeffrey Sellen

Jeffrey David Sellen, who grew up in the Columbia Basin region before settling in Lynnwood, passed away on Feb. 19 from heart failure. He was 62. Jeff, born May 4, 1960, graduated from Warden High School in 1978. As a teenager, he loved to work on classic cars and motorcycles. Jeff moved out of state to pursue a bachelor’s degree, but he left university after his freshman year to follow his passion for the arts, becoming one of the most highly sought-after artists, designers, and masters of stone masonry in the Seattle area. During a four-decade career in stone masonry, he founded his own firm, J.D. Sellen Design Stone & Marble Company. His attention to detail and precision with natural stones has been displayed in catalogs and magazines of fine home building for decades.

On Dec. 12, 2022, Nancy Lou Queen was taken from us suddenly and unexpectedly. Nancy suffered from an aortic dissection. She passed suddenly and painlessly at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Her passing was only seven months since the only man and true love of her life passed in May of this same year. Her surviving family and friends are comforted in knowing that the two are together again in eternity. Nancy was born in July of 1942 to Roy and Norma Adams in Chewelah, Washington. Nancy was the first of three children. Her surviving siblings are Nikki (Adams) Lawwill of Owenton, Kentucky and Buck Adams of Moses Lake, Washington.

Jewell Jensen Iverson, 88, of Royal City, Washington, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, in Moses Lake, Washington from complications of a stroke. Jewell was born on Oct. 31, 1933, in Mantua, Utah, to Isaac H. and Martha Call Jensen. She grew up as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained a faithful member throughout her life. Growing up, she enjoyed spending time with her 12 siblings, going to church dances and family reunions. She graduated from Box Elder High in 1951. She was a member of the Girls League, which provided her with the opportunity to develop important social and life skills. Her joyful spirit drew others to her and she had a great talent for turning strangers into friends. After high school, Jewell worked as an operator for the telephone company in Brigham City, Utah.

The youngest of 11 siblings, Roberto was born in 1949, in Raymonville, Texas to the late Cleotilde and Amelia De Leon. The De Leon family were migrant farm workers and they would spend their summers working in Virginia, then traveled to Florida to work for the winter.
