Jane Mildred (Halverson) McKenzie passed away Oct. 27, 2023, at the age of 89 in Moses Lake, Washington. Jane was born in Calgary, Alberta on July 29, 1934. She lived in Calgary, Magrath and Lethbridge, Alberta. She was the middle of three sisters (Bernice and Ruth). Jane married Delbert (Del) McKenzie on Sept. 5, 1959, in Lethbridge. They met while attending Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan. Del and Jane served together with the Christian and Missionary Alliance for over 50 years in Montana, Idaho, Alberta and Washington.

The Washington fishing license anglers had last Saturday is out of date. They expired at midnight March 31. In order to continue fishing legally, anglers 15 years of age and older must purchase a 2012-13 license. Licenses and permits are available online, by phone, at 1-866-246-9453, and from sporting goods stores and other retail license dealers around the state.
Wilson, Zhang capture titles at WJGA State Championship
MOSES LAKE — After three days of competition, the 47th Annual Washington Junior Golf Association’s State Championship concluded at the Moses Lake Golf Club on Thursday, with winners crowned across the eight separate divisions. Angela Zhang, 14, of Bellevue, won her second straight WJGA overall title in the girls ages 14-18 division, and Ben Wilson, 15, of Burlington, won the boys ages 14-18 overall title. “I always enjoy playing events in Washington and having the support of everyone here at home,” Zhang said. “It’s really great to be able to win here two times now, super special, and I can’t wait to compete here next year.”
