LIBERTY LAKE — The Columbia Basin will have some representation at the 21st annual Washington/North Idaho All-State Girls Basketball Games.

Four local athletes were selected: Gabi Isaak of Almira/Coulee-Hartline, Tessa Jantz of Lind-Ritzville/Sprague, Bailey Whitney of Warden and Katelyn Ostrowski of Ephrata.

Isaak, a 5-foot-10 sophomore, was a first team all-league selection in the Northeast 1B. Isaak averaged 15 points and eight rebounds per game, contributing to ACH’s unlikely run to the 1B state championship game. The sixth-seeded Warriors won three games in three days to reach the title game, but ultimately fell to Republic 51-29.

Isaak will share the court with LRS’ Jantz for the East B squad. Jantz averaged a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in her senior year for the Broncos.

Warden’s Whitney was selected to the East 1A team. Whitney led a young Cougars team with 15.3 points and 14.5 rebounds per game, capped with first team all-league honors. Warden fell one win shy of a district tournament berth, but has a bright future with a core of sophomores highlighted by Whitney. Whitney is one of three underclassmen on the East 1A team.

Ostrowski is one of seven players from the Central Washington Athletic Conference to make the East 2A/3A squad. Ostrowski scored 13.5 points per game for the Tigers.

The all-state games will be held at the HUB Sports Center in Liberty Lake on June 17. The first game is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
