Miss Moses Lake
Reader disappointed with change
I am a past member of the Miss Moses Lake Pageant Scholarship Committee and the first executive director of the program. I was an active member of the committee for 46 years. During my involvement, three Miss Moses Lakes have become Miss Washington and competed for Miss America. I am concerned with the current direction of the Miss Moses Lake Pageant. In the past, we had bylaws stating contestants must be a resident of Moses Lake for at least six months prior to the pageant. I am concerned to see contestants from other communities competing and receiving the crown and honor of Miss Moses Lake. In the past three years, the title of Miss Moses Lake has been represented by young ladies who do not hail from Moses Lake.
