May 9, 1946 – January 8, 2022

Robert (Bob) William Beisel was born Thursday, May 9, 1946, to Charles William Beisel and Laurietta (Loretta) May Hart in Port Townsend, Washington. Bob’s parents moved their family from Quilcene to West Seattle when his father began working for Boeing. He had fond memories of his high school days at Chief Sealth High. Summers during high school years were spent on a ranch in the highlands above Oroville, Washington, bucking hay. He loved those times so much that he eventually purchased land in the area and spent many peaceful weekends watching wildlife, fishing nearby lakes and going down memory lane on wandering mountain drives.

After high school, Bob enlisted in the army and served in Vietnam and then the National Guard. He then did some hay farming in Oregon. War experiences continued to haunt him so he took a three-month ride on horseback along the Cascades Crest Trail to “get his head on straight.” In the early ’70s, Bob began his career on the Warden Police Department, which he retired from some 20 years later. He also served during those years as a volunteer fireman. He loved helping the people of Warden in both these capacities.

The fall of 1975, Bob met and married Linda Ann Wiltse on Feb. 14, 1976, and gained a ready-made family of two daughters, Wendy and Rhonda, whom he loved as his own and adopted in 1989. In June of 1989, Bob and Linda were sealed together with their daughters in the Seattle, Washington temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Bob’s health began to decline following a stroke in 2011, bringing many challenges. He passed away peacefully on Jan. 8 at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake with Linda and Wendy at his side. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Patty Krine and brother Ken.

Surviving family include his wife Linda; daughters Wendy (Bryan) Harting and Rhonda Young; granddaughters Tanisha Young, Amber Young and Destiny Ridge; one great grandson Elliott Young; nephew Bruce Gibson and niece Tina Gibson; three aunts and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Warden Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital.
