| September 8, 2012 6:00 AM

Elena Garcia Rendon - Born March 24, 1928, passed peacefully into Heaven on Sept. 3, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the matriarch of a very large family in which she took her greatest joy. Surviving family members include her children Enrique and Esther Rendon of Amarillo, TX, Manuel Rendon of Moses Lake, Albert and Lorene Rendon of Omak, David and Ronda Rendon of Olympia, John and Alice Rendon of Moses Lake, Julia and Joe Guzman of Lynnwood, Viola and Orlando Ruiz of Moses Lake, Sandy Rodriguez (wife of Jesse Rodriguez) of Moses Lake, Willie and Amy Rodriguez of Moses Lake, sisters Cenaida Flores and Mary Ramirez of Texas, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews in Washington and Texas.

Elena was preceded in death by her parents Brigido and Altagracia Garcia, husband Enrique Zapata Rendon, infant son Frank, son Jesse Rodriguez, and brothers Amador Garcia and Baldamar Garcia.

In addition to raising nine children, Elena found time to work in various fields during her life; however, she was always available to her children and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Elena liked to travel between Texas and Washington so she could spend time with her family. She was very devoted to her faith as it offered comfort to her during hard times. She was able to enjoy an independent life and spent her last few years in the loving care of her son Manuel.

Elena had a fierce sense of humor and quick wit in which she would use daily on her family to bring smiles and laughter. Those memories are one of the most precious gifts that she has left for her family and a gift that they will treasure most.

In respect for her wishes, a private family memorial service was held. It is the family's wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Assured Hospice of Moses Lake, 1417 S. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake, WA 98837. Condolences may also be made through the on-line guestbook at www.kayserschapel.com. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.

Revelation 21:4-5: He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The old things have disappeared. Then the One who sits on the throne said, "And now I make all things new!"
