Volunteers are reason for season
MOSES LAKE — 'Twas the morn of elections and all through the city, crews worked feverishly to ensure everything looked holidayish and pretty.
Reader is disappointed with column
I would like to express my complete disappointment and anger in your recent article concerning Moses Lake High School. Our high school has so many positive activities going on every day that to focus on a kid swearing in the parking lot and a teacher having a problem with her clothes is flat out ridiculous and insulting to all teachers and students. Did it occur to you that you could have said something to the kid swearing? Supposedly you are a writer, why not challenge him to expand his vocabulary and use more appropriate words? As far as the teacher's shirt pulling up in back, are you suggesting that you have never had an embarrassing wardrobe problem?
Reader wants to see a change
I believe that if each and every one of you will reflect on the facts of the past and present, it will ensure that your vote is for the man who is for our community, not for political position and personal gain. We must vote out of office, regardless of political preference, those politicians who seek vanity over truly finding solutions to our city's problems, and will listen to what the people of our community are concerned about.
Jean Emma Renville

Reader has a vision for the community
I have a vision for our community that is centered on two themes: charity and Christmas Love. I am copying an idea that I had the pleasure of watching last year in Kansas City. For sixty years, musicians from all over Kansas City have come together to raise food and money for their local food bank. The concert includes sacred and secular choral works, brass ensembles and hand bell choirs. It brings the community together for not only an opportunity to experience and hear great music but to open hearts to acts of giving and caring.
