Reader is disappointed with column

| April 22, 2011 6:00 AM

I would like to express my complete disappointment and anger in your recent article concerning Moses Lake High School. Our high school has so many positive activities going on every day that to focus on a kid swearing in the parking lot and a teacher having a problem with her clothes is flat out ridiculous and insulting to all teachers and students. Did it occur to you that you could have said something to the kid swearing? Supposedly you are a writer, why not challenge him to expand his vocabulary and use more appropriate words? As far as the teacher's shirt pulling up in back, are you suggesting that you have never had an embarrassing wardrobe problem?

I am in no way suggesting that our high school doesn't have problems at times. I challenge you to find any high school, public or private, that doesn't. I can tell you this, for my own son, that is currently a junior, our high school has been nothing but a wonderful experience for him. I also look forward to my youngest son being here next year. The staff and the all the opportunities, both in class and out, are tremendous.

I completely support your right to send your kids to private school, but I can't support your mean spirited attach on our school. You need to realize that words can hurt and yours did. For this reason when my current subscription runs out I will no longer receive the Columbia Basin Herald.
