SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The grim toll of the historic heat wave in the Pacific Northwest became more apparent as authorities in Canada, Washington state and Oregon said Wednesday that they were investigating more than 100 deaths likely caused by scorching temperatures that shattered all-time records.

Friends who wish may call at the Nelson Road LDS Chapel on Friday evening, February 24th from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday, February 25th from 11a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

OLYMPIA — Twenty-two affordable housing projects in Washington, including two in Central Washington, will be getting an extra boost thanks to supplemental funding by the state Department of Commerce, according to a press release from the department. The $26.6 million investment comes from the state Housing Trust Fund and will bridge the gap created by steep increases in construction costs and help support developers in maintaining a needed pipeline of affordable housing units, the release said. Smith Power Plant in Othello, Washington, in accordance with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, and supplied specifications. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis in U.S. dollars.
