Norma Jean Pippenger, 76, longtime Moses Lake, resident passed away on Monday, April 17, 2006 at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory.

Roger L. Biallas, longtime Moses Lake resident peacefully passed away on Aug. 19, 2006 at his home with his wife and children by his side, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

The Grant County roadside spray program will begin approximately April 10, 2006. The roadside spray contractor is ASAP Spray of Ephrata, Washington. An applicator of the Noxious Weed Control Board of Grant County will spot spray as necessary. Owner Will Maintain agreements must be received at the office of the Noxious Weed Control Board of Grant County by April 10, 2006, to be effective at the start of the 2006 roadside spray program. The Fishin' Magician: Plentiful fish for the new season
Burke Lake was the busiest on the first weekend of the opening of several lakes in the Quincy area, due to the tagged trout derby, but Quincy Lake also got its share of anglers. Fishing at Quincy wasn't quite as good as the action at Burke. The fact that 120 rainbow of 15 to 18 inches were added to Burke, along with 30 fish weighing from 5 to 7 pounds for the derby may have been a factor.
