I am really disappointed in the sports coverage of the Columbia Basin Herald.

Many of us love to watch the Gonzaga Bulldogs men’s basketball games. They play good, clean ball and show good sportsmanship.

They played 32 games with only 6 losses, beating most teams twice, including St. Mary’s.

To my knowledge, there was no mention of any of these games in our paper.

In March, they went to Las Vegas for the West Coast Conference, at which time, they lost to St. Mary’s.

What did the Herald do? In big letters, they reported “St. Mary’s upsets Gonzaga in WCC title game.” Thanks a lot to the reporter who outdid himself.

I might add, St. Mary’s player Omar Samham got a technical for shoving Robert Sacre and laughed about it. In my opinion, he should have been thrown out of the game.

Let’s give the Gonzaga Bulldogs credit where credit is due.
