Tim Flint
Tim Flint passed away on June 11, 2025, at the age of 85 in Othello, Washington. Tim is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years Susan Flint; daughters Dawn Donahoo (Doug), Kimberly Detwiler and Becky Jo Flint (Scott Rodgers); grandson Jake; and granddaughters Ashley, Alyson and Jessica. Tim was born in Los Angeles, California, and attended schools in California. He graduated from Sierra High School and went on to Reedley College. In 1959, a blind date led to a lifelong partnership with Susan and they married in 1960. His early career included PG&E of California, but Tim’s passion for the outdoors led him to pursue a career in Wildlife Management and a move to the Pacific Northwest. Encouraged by his wife, Tim returned to college in his 30s, earning a BS degree in Wildlife Resources from the University of Idaho in 1974. He immediately joined the Washington Department of Fish and Game, where he served with distinction until he retired in 1987 due to post-polio syndrome. Tim’s life was one of quiet determination, deep love for family and a strong connection to nature.

Jiri Vanourek (JV), 84, of Othello, Wash. departed this mortal life while at his home, to be with his Lord amongst heaven’s mountains Sept. 18, 2015. He was born in Horky, Czechoslovakia on Jan. 30, 1931 to parents Vratislav and Ruzena (Zahradnikova) Vanourek. He and his two sisters grew up on the farm and he attended high school in the nearby town of Caslav.

Dorothy Louise Glass, 88, long time Moses Lake resident passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 27th at Kayser's Chapel of Memories. A reception will follow the service at Norm and Linda Benson's home. Viewing will be from noon to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26 and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 27 at Kayser's Chapel. Snowpack near normal for 2017
MOSES LAKE — Rain and warmer temperatures will mean some melting snow at lower elevations this weekend. That could translate to water – maybe a lot of it – making an appearance in creek-beds and culverts that are usually dry this time of year. Meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in Spokane say eastern and central Washington residents should look out for water in unexpected places.

Latest on the Wahluke Slope Fire: over 12,000 acres burnt, 75 percent contained
A brush fire that started Friday night burned at least 12,000 acres along the Saddle Mountain area north of Wahluke. As of noon on Sunday, the fire was 75 percent contained and mostly tamped out, except for small smoldering hot spots.
