BALTIMORE (AP) — A natural gas explosion destroyed three row houses in Baltimore on Monday morning, killing a woman and trapping other people in the debris. At least six people were seriously injured, and firefighters were searching for more survivors.

Just a few days ago, I took time to visit my father. He is 97 1/2 years old now. I made the trip to Port Townsend because he had fallen and was in the hospital. Turns out he had pneumonia and was quite weak. The good news is that he has since recovered from his bacterial lung infection and is now regaining his strength in rehab.

He resided in his home in Kennewick until the last week of his life where he went to Kadlec hospital and spent two days in Richland Rehab. He passed on Sunday May 6, 2012. He died of complications of Lung Cancer that had spread to other organs of his body.
