Robert Lee Paczynski

Robert Lee Paczynski, known by his friends as Bob, passed away at the age of 83. He resided in his home in Kennewick until the last week of his life where he went to Kadlec hospital and spent two days in Richland Rehab. He passed on Sunday May 6, 2012. He died of complications of Lung Cancer that had spread to other organs of his body.

Bob was born October 3, 1928 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. His parents were Roman and Mabel Paczynski. He had three older sisters Marie, Agnes and Rosemary. He married my mother Betty in Seattle on June 24, 1950.  They were married 59 years and five months.  He joined the Marines after high school, and served in the Korean War. He spent some more time in the reserves. He served with one of his lifelong friends Willard Shults.

After their service in the military they both gained employment with UPS (United Parcel Service).  The company had Robert set up the branch in Moses Lake, and he retired from the company 37 years later. In the early years in Moses Lake Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. He has always loved bowling and bowled on our bowling team until February. After he retired he became an avid golfer. He golfed four days a week up to September. My dad had a great sense of humor and loved to tease when we played cards which we did every week-end for the last three years.

My parents had two children Shirley Richards is the only daughter, and Rodney Paczynski, the only son.

His wife Betty preceded him in death on November 16, 2009, and 9 Months later his only son died on August 27, 2010.   He also lost his parents and two of his sisters.

Surviving him is his only daughter Shirley Richards, and a sister Rosemary Messling who resides in Arkansas. He is also survived by three grandchildren Christy Jones and Nikki Loeffler of Oklahoma City, and one grandson Rob Richards of Midland; one grandchild by marriage Ronelle Osborne of Moses Lake; and many great-grandchildren that he dearly loved.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 14th and Union Street in Kennewick.  After the interment in Desert Lawn Memorial Park, refreshments will be offered in the hospitality room at Mueller's.
