Five busted for heroin
MOSES LAKE - Five Moses Lake residents were taken to jail on Tuesday, Dec. 18, to answer to charges of delivering heroin after a long-term investigation by law enforcement.
March 2025 a busy month for Basin law enforcement
MOSES LAKE — March was a busy month for law enforcement with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Moses Lake Police Department and Adams County Sheriff’s Office all involved in investigations. The month had high speed chases, drive-by shootings and suspects fleeing from law enforcement, along with some other cases. Here is a recap of the cases that occurred in March.
John Maib-Lewis
Our dear son John passed away in his sleep in the early morning of July 14, 2005. John was on vacation with his dad in Minnesota when our good Lord decided it was time to relieve John of his earthly health burdens. Diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy as a toddler and congestive heart failure in the spring of 2004, John enjoyed his life right up to the end. He had been to a baseball game with his dad and half-brother the night of his death. A spirited boy, John rarely expressed sadness or disappointment about his physical limitations.

Portland, Ore., resident Gerald Francis Voss passed away at home Nov. 15, 2006. A funeral mass for Gerald will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Moses Lake.

EPHRATA – Grant County has a lot to offer travelers, whether they’re passing through or coming for a show at The Gorge Amphitheatre or maybe spending a weekend at a bed and breakfast by the Columbia River – but it takes work to get the word out about the attractions in the county. That’s what the Grant County Tourism Commission is for though. “Fundamentally, when you break it down, we utilize funding from LTAC, which is the Lodging Tax Advisory (Committee), and we take the revenue generated from tourism – all the people that travel to our county and spend money staying in hotels and campgrounds and RV sites – and we use that to promote the entire county,” said Tourism Commission Chair Amanda Laramore.

Norman Theodore Estoos Jr. was peacefully ushered into the presence of his Lord and Savior in the early morning of June 15th, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family. Months ago Norm put it best, his “ticker” was just slowing down.
