MATTAWA — The Miss Mattawa Scholarship Program awarded over $6,000 in scholarships to five high school junior girls Saturday, March 10.
Othello Girls Tennis continues to roll
Wapato — The Huskies opened league action in fine fashion with a 4-1 road win over the Wapato Wolves March 29. Othello got strong play from all three doubles team that went undefeated in the match. The lone loss of the outing came at second singles. Othello (6-0, 1-0) is currently deadlocked in a 4-way tie with Selah, Toppenish, Ellensburg and Grandview atop the league standings, but is clearly one of the teams to beat in the Central Washington Athletic Conference.
No adverse impacts after fuel spill near Quincy

QUINCY — There were no “adverse environmental impacts” after a fuel tanker overturned on state Route 28 on March 6 and almost 2,000 gallons of gasoline was spilled into a roadside ditch, according to state regulators.

MATTAWA — Meeting in executive session on March 17, the Mattawa City Council rejected a request from Carlos Garza to drop legal action against him regarding his property at 200 Riverview.
