Women Painters of Washington exhibit coming to Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE — The focus will be on female artists at the new exhibit coming to the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center next week. “A Matter of Perspective” will feature 12 members of the Eastern Washington division of Women Painters of Washington, according to museum director Dollie Boyd. The paintings weren’t out yet on Friday, as the museum just wrapped up a traveling exhibit of American relief posters of World War II. “I haven't seen all the work yet,” said Boyd. “I'm excited. Fresh News from MarDon
Early October our fall fishing patterns are in place due to shorter days and cooler nights. Our water temperatures are now down in the high 60-degree range. The cooling water instinctively makes warm water fish feed more aggressively to put on more weight and deal with the upcoming winter. Our walleye fishing reports remain simply amazing. Local residents have learned how to enjoy walleye limits routinely. At MarDon Resort we have had walleye fishers from Montana, Oregon, Idaho, Vancouver, B.C., and from all over Washington state. Our premier walleye guide Shelby Ross, of Ross Outdoor Adventures, has had amazing fishing for his customers for the past month. If you would like to catch a giant walleye give him a call at (509)750-7763 to go out on a trip on Potholes Reservoir.

Fire season coming to an end
MOSES LAKE — The fire season is starting to come to an end in Washington, according to Department of Natural Resources Communications Manager Ryan Rodruck. “We’re certainly winding down the season,” Rodruck said. “I would say that for western Washington, we have seen that season-ending precipitation at this point. I would not expect any large, costly fires to materialize in western Washington at this point.” However, eastern and central Washington are still waiting for season-ending precipitation, which will likely not happen this week, Rodruck said.
