Reader grateful for garage sale support

Last Saturday, July 16, I held a garage sale to help raise money for the Evergreen Chapter of the ALS Association. My Aunt Betty passed away 4 years ago from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and this was in honor of "Team Betty." I would like to thank the Moses Lake community for coming out and supporting it in such a generous way, especially the little girl that handed me her big bag of coins! She contributed $8.50 of her own money, which helped me raise a total of $840, all of which has been sent to the foundation to help the cause! This is the best community to live in! Please join me walking this Oct. 1 at the "Walk to Defeat ALS" or watch my fundraising progress at

Fresh News From MarDon: Walleye and low temps at Potholes

Our Indian Summer was beautiful but now it is over. Our surface water temperatures on Potholes Reservoir have been hovering around 60 degrees. Every fall for many years when our surface temps drop to 55 degrees Walleye action starts with a swim jig or blade bait. Fishing the humps on the face of the sand dunes in 15-40 feet of water would be your best bet using this type of bait. The best size swim jig for a large walleye would be a 4, 5 or 6 inch.
