Vernon Glenn Ellestad was born in Backus, MN June 21, 1919 to Arnold Edward and Helen R. (Larreau) Ellestad. His childhood was spent in a tight knit extended family, with numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. The Northern Minnesota environment was harsh, the nation was in a depression and Vern‘s father was ill through much of childhood. He learned to be self-reliant and resilient. His mother was a teacher, and much of his education came at her knee.

Rosemary Anderson, 72, Passed away April 4, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Odessa, WA formerly from Moses Lake, WA. Rosemary was born on October 4, 1937 in Forest, Mississippi to Clarence and Mary (Kessler) Singley.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by eight children Steve Higgs of Moses Lake, WA; William Higgs of Murfreesboro, TN; Alan Higgs of Moses Lake, Wa; Helen Redding of Whitehouse, TN; Lolita (Lynn) Nelson  and Jeffery Higgs both of Odessa, WA; Christine Brown of Moses Lake, WA and Mark Higgs of North Carolina. She has 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren along with one brother Charles Stingley of TN and three sisters Katheline Carter and Ruthy Fullington both of AZ and Edna Smith if MI along with numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husbands Doyle W. Higgs and Robert F. Anderson and one brother LeRoy Stingley and two sisters Doris Payne and Grace Despot. As per her request no services will be held but a family memorial service will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Rosemary’s name.  Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, Wash. is caring for the family.

Morgan L. Hansen, 59, Born February 6, 1951 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Glenn and Pearl (Layton) Hansen, passed away at home on May 3, 2010 in Coulee Dam, Washington. Morgan had made his home in Elmer City and Moses Lake. A licensed massage therapist and natural healer, Morgan’s great love was his family, especially being “Poppa” and Santa Claus for his grandchildren. He loved playing golf at Banks Lake, sailing, camping and “putting around the house – building, creating, and inventing things”. In addition, Morgan had a great capacity for healing people. He invented many natural cures to aid people with everyday pain. Morgan is survived by his beloved wife: Roberta (Brown) Hansen, whom he married at “Hitch’n Post” in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on September 9, 2000; daughters: Marcella Ronyak (Jim), Theresa Cavasos (Daniel), Cherie Shelley (Don), Faith Hansen and Robyn Andral; eight Grandchildren; seven Great-grandchildren; brothers: Willard, Donald, Howard, Ronald, Raymond, Glen and Phillip; sisters: Sarah Lou, Priscilla, Karen, Janine, Shannon and Sunny; numerous nephews and nieces and his good friend and golfing buddy: Bob McGill. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday May 8, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nespelem, WA with cremation to follow. Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee, WA is assisting Morgan’s family.
