Mercedes Lopez Hidalgo

Mercedes Lopez Hidalgo, 82, will be remembered and cherished by many as a loving, caring, compassionate and kind lady.

She was born September 26, 1927 in Crystal City, Texas, to Guadalupe and Concepciona Perez Lopez and passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on April 26, 2010. As a floral designer, she was involved in many community weddings, quincenieras and church activities. Gardening was one of her greatest joys. She whole-heartedly loved her children. She had 17 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren with one on the way and also many extended family members. Mercedes is survived by her husband of 43 years, Eusebio Hidalgo, a son, Esmael Garcia, and a daughter Anita Zamora, she is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Melissa G. Surface and a son, Ricardo L. Garcia. She will be remembered by her wonderful reflection of God’s love. A viewing will be held Thursday, April 29 at El Sendero de la Cruz at 2227 W Peninsula, Moses Lake, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM; her funeral service will be Friday, April 30 at 10:00 AM at the Assembly of God Church at 431 E Brown, Moses Lake, followed by interment in Pioneer Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Benson Family Funeral Services, Moses Lake.
