Douglas "Doug" Hall, age 54. Doug passed away suddenly on the morning of October 4, 2011 in Spokane, WA. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Faye; his children Kevin and Kristina; his parents Roberta and G.W. "Dub" Hall; sister Dena, and numerous extended family and friends. Doug was born in Moses Lake, WA. Graduating from Moses Lake High School in 1975. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home in Spokane.

Edith G. Pauley, 96, died October 5, 2011. Edith came here with her husband, Pete, in 1954. Farm work inspired her to become a teacher. Edith found her niche as a reading teacher where she passed on her love of books to hundreds of area students.

Rose Ann, born Oct 12, 1941 in Humboldt, Iowa, to LeRoy and Bessie Sorlien, passed away from sudden health complications on Saturday, August 20, 2011 in Surprise Arizona. While she had attended schools elsewhere in the states, she attended Ephrata (1954-1956) and Quincy (1956-1960) schools, graduating from Quincy in 1960 in the newly built high school. Rose Ann married Larry Ribail (1957 Quincy WA graduate) on August 24, 1963. They had a successful business "Northwest Drywall Supply" in Kent, WA, retiring in 2000 to Arizona as "snowbirds."

Mildred Pauline "Millie" Conley was born in Pottsville, Arkansas on Dec. 17, 1936, and passed away surrounded by family, after an unexpected illness Aug. 15, 2011. Preceded by her sisters Velma and Jean and survived by her mother Anne and brothers Willie and Doyle. Millie left a legacy of love, strength and courage. She lived the fullest life with the love of her life by her side, her "firecracker" Bill Conley. Married July 4, 1958, together they accomplished the American Dream, built a family with their four children David, Calvin, Wayne and Belinda, and experienced blessings beyond measure. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren Samantha, Kristen, Stephanie, Sarabeth, Shauna and Christopher, their spouses and her great grandchildren Dallas, Azaray, Anthony, Landon, Kadence, Conley and two on the way.

Roy Warnick Sr.

Roy "Hugh" Warnick, Sr., 89, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, August 8, 2011 with his loving wife of 65 years, Betty, by his side. Hugh was born April 25, 1922 in Yakima, Washington to Roy and Mary Warnick. He grew up in Yakima and graduated from Davis High School. He attended Yakima Valley Junior College and Perry Institute. Prior to his graduating and after the early death of his father, the family purchased a ranch in the beautiful Wenas Valley. Together with his wife Betty, mother Mary, and brothers Don, Jim and their families, they operated the Warnick Brothers' Guest Ranch for many years. Complete with a small airstrip it was a very popular stopover for people traveling over from the Coast. It was also a working dude ranch, farm, summer camp for girls, and the brothers guided elk hunters in the fall. Hugh met and married his dream girl, Betty Vickerman, of Rapid City, South Dakota after meeting in Yakima while both were obtaining their pilots' licenses. They shared a love of owning and flying small aircraft until they clipped a line and crash landed.

Vernon Fred Miner passed away at the age of 59 in Moses Lake. Vern was born December 4, 1951 and raised in Warden, Washington graduated from Warden High School and worked at Basin American Foods from 1973 until 2010 mostly in plant maintenance. Vern is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and June Miner. He is survived by his wife, Mary (St. John) of Moses Lake, a daughter Jennifer (Andre') Roybal, grandsons Drake and Devon, a sister, Dorthy Evans and a brother Rick Miner of Lincoln City, OR, a brother Terry Miner of Warden and nieces, Tara and Satin Miner of Moses Lake. Vern and Mary enjoyed traveling; their favorite destinations were to Las Vegas and to the ocean for whale watching.
