Household hazardous waste collection event to be held Saturday
MOSES LAKE – The Grant County Public Works Department announced there will be a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event near Moses Lake this Saturday, April 29. The announcement states the event is for households only, waste must be in containers that are five gallons or less and the containers will not be removed.
Power interrupted after truck hits pole
OTHELLO — A truck that slid off the road about three miles east of Othello Friday morning led to a brief power outage. Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner said the collision occurred about 7 a.m. near the intersection of West Cunningham Road and South Billington Road. Slick road conditions contributed to the accident, according to a post from the ACSO. The truck came to rest on its side, knocking down a power pole and interrupting service. Power was restored before 4 p.m. No further information on the collision was available at press time.

Fly-in breakfast at Desert Aire Airport next month
DESERT AIRE — Pilots and non-pilots are being invited to breakfast June 17 at the Desert Aire Airport. The annual “Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast” is scheduled for 7 to 11 a.m. at the airport, 121 Desert Aire Drive. Pilots are invited to show off their planes, said airport commission chair Karl Reese, while spectators are invited to talk to the pilots and meet their neighbors. Breakfast will be served in the big hangar next to Sagebrush Senior Center. The menu includes pancakes, eggs and sausage, juice and coffee. A suggested donation of $7 is requested. All proceeds go to airport maintenance.
