EPHRATA – James M. Kelly, 26, the suspect in the June 18 shooting at the Beyond Wonderland music festival, has multiple court dates coming up.
GCSO urges caution while celebrating at bars
EPHRATA – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has issued a statement warning area residents to be cautious when out at bars regarding Rohypnol, also known as roofies, and gamma-hydroxybutyric acid, also known as GHB or liquid ecstasy. Both are date rape drugs and can take away the ability to fight back or remember what happened while under their effects. Mixing these substances with alcohol can also be fatal.
Fireworks reminder
EPHRATA – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office issued a reminder regarding rules associated with fireworks in the unincorporated area of Grant County. Fireworks may be discharged from 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 1 a.m. New Year’s Day, generally. However, at no time are fireworks allowed at Marine View, Marine View Heights, Crescent Bar, Desert Aire outside of Desert Aire Park, The Gorge or the campground at The Gorge. After a short illness, David Ross Morehouse, 73, died on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 2023. David was born at St. Anthony Hospital on July 4, 1950, in Wenatchee, Washington. He was the second of four children of his parents Wallace and Peggy Crial Morehouse.

Splash pad coming to Othello’s Kiwanis Park
OTHELLO — Planning is underway for upgrades to Othello’s Kiwanis Park, which are tentatively scheduled for summer 2024. City Engineer Shawn O’Brien said that’s the plan, but there are details still to be worked out. “The schedule is still up in the air,” he said. “The final plan has not been ironed out yet.”
