EPHRATA - Ephrata High School wrestlers will be holding a fundraiser on Jan. 8 to raise money for the wrestling program. Wrestlers will be serving brunch along with a bake sale at Pita Pit in Ephrata, located at 26 Basin St. Nw. The fundraiser will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 8 and while the brunch is no-cost, the wrestling team is asking for donations from diners.

GCFD3 to hold open house

QUINCY - Grant County Fire District 3 will be holding a fire prevention and open house on Oct. 11. The event will feature balloons, a junior firefighter obstacle course, halloween bags, Sparky the mascot and residents can order address markers for $20. There will also be free refreshments including hot dogs, chips and cake. The event will be held in the main firehouse located at 1201 Central Ave S in Quincy from 3 to 6 p.m.

SLPD issues warning regarding catalytic converter thefts

SOAP LAKE — The Soap Lake Police Department issued a warning to the public that catalytic converter thefts in the area have been increasing and recommended that residents be extra vigilant. The SLPD advised the public that if they see a parked car that they don’t recognize late at night, they should call police. The thieves may also be on foot with backpacks and/or tools in hand. The release stated that the uptick in the thefts has happened in both Soap Lake and Ephrata.
