Mary E. Alsup passed away September 8, 2013. She was born in Ephrata, WA August 21, 1932 to Margaret and John Arbuckle. She lived most of her life in Moses Lake and spent the past 13 years in Spokane with family.
Naoki Kamiya
Naoki Kamiya was born on Feb. 8, 1959, in Tokyo, Japan to parents Kunio and Akiko, and brother Shigeki who was six years his senior. He spent most of his childhood years living in Tokyo with a short time spent living in Rome around age 5. His father was a commercial 747 pilot for Japan Airlines and they moved to Moses Lake for two years when Naoki was 14 so his father could train other pilots at the air base there. When his parents decided to return to Japan, Naoki (age 16) wanted to stay in the United States to complete high school and he graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1977. Naoki went on to pursue both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash., and graduated in May 1984. It was in an undergraduate class in Circuits that he was a teaching assistant for a young, lovely undergrad named Flo Hausler. (Flo bashfully admits that she got an A in that class, but Naoki told her they could not date until the class ended.) The rest is magic …

Debra Dawn Zeiler was born in Odessa on May 23, 1955, to Donald and Ione (Tootie) Zeiler. Debbie went to Odessa schools for 12 years and graduated in 1973. According to her sisters, Deb was the queen or princess of many dances. She loved wrestling where she kept score for four years. She played tennis for four years. It was said you didn’t want to be on the receiving end of her serve when she was mad. After graduation she enrolled at Kinman Business University in Spokane, Washington and graduated with a degree in data processing. After completing her college degree, she moved to Moses Lake and was employed at the sugar beet factory. After a number of years, she went to work for the Washington State Potato Commission in Moses Lake where she worked for 24 years.
