Sally Ann Elmore, of Othello, maintained an upbeat attitude throughout her journey with pancreatic cancer for over 2 1/2 years. On Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, with her family and friends by her side, she concluded this journey.

Geoffrey Jon Gilbert

Geoffrey Jon Gilbert, 42, died as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident on February 9, 2010 near his home in Napavine, Washington. Geoff was born on April 27, 1967 in Detroit, Michigan to Dr. Richard E. and Sharron M. Gilbert. He grew up in Gig Harbor, WA where he attended Peninsula High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Central Washington University. Geoff performed with the U.S. Navy Band for nearly 10 years. An accomplished jazz musician, he was a jazz band director and trumpet counselor at Burton and Porter Music Camps. In addition, he performed with the Yakima Symphony and Brass Ensemble. Since his employment with the Chehalis School District at W.F. West High School in August 2006, Geoff was involved with the Northwest Wind Symphony, as president and trumpeter, was the Southwest Washington Music Educators Association President-Elect and was recently accepted into the Olympia Jazz Senators.

He graciously took Shirley Anne Wilson, the special needs child of John and Lynda Wilson of Moses Lake, to heaven to be with him so that she might touch others like those here on earth that she touched during her life here on earth.

Walla Walla resident, Sandra Lee "Sandy" Rawls, 65, died peacefully at her home on April 19, 2006. Sandy was born April 7, 1941 in Walla Walla to Franklin "Doc" and Shirley Baker Cline. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1959. She attended Willamette University, and CWU where she received a master's degree. She earned an Ed.D. from WSU. On August 4, 1990 she and David Rawls married in Moses Lake. In July 2002 they moved to Walla Walla from Coeur d'Alene.

Lyman Wallace "Bud" Murdock of Warden, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, May 28, 2006 after a long battle with cancer; he was 78.
