Bonnie Lou Ottmar Rea

On November 21st 2010 at 2pm, with family and friends around her and Don holding her hand, we set her free to be with the Lord.

Bonnie Lou Ottmar Rea, 63, Of Soap Lake Died in Wenatchee, Wash. of a sudden illness.

Bonnie was born on November 22, 1946 in Bremerton Wash. She was raised by her mother Ruth and Art Ottmar of Moses Lake. She attended Moses Lake High School. On July 7, 1967 Bonnie married Donald and was married by her future father in law, Judge Felix Rea and wife Virginia Rea and gained two daughters Kris, and Barbara. Later 2 more children were born to Don and Bonnie. First a daughter, Angelia Marie, then a son Felix Arthur was born to the family.

During their marriage Bonnie was a housewife and mother. After their children were old enough, Bonnie worked for 16 years as a secretary at the Smokiam Alternative High School. There she challenged the students to excel in their studies and to complete their schooling till graduation. Many students were touched by Bonnie's prodding for their attendance and succeeding in their formative years. Without Bonnie's help many students would not have made graduation day. Many past and present students have written on her facebook page of how she touched their lives.

Bonnie was very active in youth orientated groups. She was a 4-H leader for many years. She also was instrumental in forming and was a coach for Wash. State High School Equestrian Team, and was an original member of the newly formed Grant County Fair Association. Bonnie served as secretary, Vice Chairman, and chairman of many committees with a focus on the horse activities and serving as the horse superintendant. She was one of the representatives for the Ardell Foundation when the Ardell Pavilion at the Grant County Fairgrounds was built.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Art and Ruth Ottmar, Father and Mother in law Felix and Virginia Rea. She is survived by her husband Don Rea. Sister Betty (Larry) Schwab, a half brother Robert Main of Rock Island. 3 daughters, Kris St. George of Soap Lake, Barbara (Tony) Dupea of Ketchikan Alaska, Angie Rea of Ephrata, and Felix "Judd" Rea of Ephrata, seven grand children, Danielle St. George, Kaitlin St. George, Derek Dupea, Kathleen Dupea, Erin Dupea, Andrew Rea-Garza, and Ally Rea, 1 great-grand son, Liam Moreno. Along with several nieces and nephews ,Rob Main, Rick Main, Judie Trammell, Robert Schwab, and Stacie Sand.

Funeral services will held at the Soap Lake High School gymnasium, Sunday November 28, 2010, 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Washington State Equestrian Team scholarship fund.
