The candor of senior class honor speaker Amanda Harder when she told her story on Saturday at Lions Field was a big takeaway from the ceremony. Two months into her high school career Harder was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.

Peggy Lucille Kienzle, 86 years-old, a long-time Warden resident, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011, in Cumming, Georgia, after a brief illness. She was born on July 22, 1925 in Chula, Missouri to Thomas Orton Dillard and Clara Beuhla McCrary. She graduated from High School in Concrete, Washington and married John Thomas Kienzle on July 3, 1943 in Mount Vernon, Washington. She worked at several jobs during her life but is most remembered working at the People National Bank, in Warden, Othello and Moses Lake. Then later, for Skone and Connors in Warden, as their secretary-bookkeeper. She moved to Othello after her husband's death in 2001. She was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother. She will be missed.

MOSES LAKE — Washington state parks remain closed statewide after being shut down last week in response to Gov. Jay Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order to protect against further spread of COVID-19. The temporary closure affects all state-managed parks, wildlife areas, and water access areas for at least two weeks, beginning March 25.
