Proposed Royal City library has opportunity for financial boost

ROYAL CITY — Royal City has learned that it has the opportunity to apply for a grant through the Washington State Department of Commerce Library Capital Improvement Program. The Friends of the Library in Royal City invited Royal City Mayor Kent Andersen and Finance Director Shilo Christensen to meet with representatives from the North Central Regional Library to learn about the grant, according to Christensen, who told the Royal City Council about the meeting during a regular council meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4.

The Housing Authority of Grant County has developed a Public Housing Agency Plan, which it intends to implement January 2008. The Plan is required by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and includes but is not limited to goals and objectives for the time period covered by the Plan. The Plan will be available for review at the Housing Authority office, located at 1139 Larson Boulevard in Moses Lake, until September 17, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. On that same date, at 2:45 p.m., a public hearing will be conducted by the Housing Authority Commissioners to receive verbal comment on the Plan. The meeting will be at the Housing Authority office. Written comment will also be accepted if it is received no later than the day of the public hearing by 1:00 p.m. at the Housing Authority office.
