Stanley L. Forest June 14, 1926 – October 9, 2016

Stanley L. Forest, Royal Slope farming pioneer, passed away on Oct. 9 at his home in Mesa, Ariz. Born on June 14, 1926, in Colorado, he moved with his family to southern Idaho as a child and started farming with his dad. As he got older he began to farm himself. In the early ’50s he joined the army and served during the Korean conflict. After his tour of duty, he settled in the Columbia Basin and resumed farming and land-leveling in Eltopia and Royal City.

Jerald “Jerry” Lee Kinkade, 80 passed away peacefully at home in Arizona on April 5, 2018. Jerald was born in Mabton, Wash. in 1938 to Harley and Helen Kinkade. His family moved several times throughout his childhood, i.e. Kettle Falls, Wash., La Grande, Ore. and Wilsall, Mont., but they always seemed to come back to the Yakima Valley where Jerald graduated from Mabton High School in 1956. Jerald was a good student and athlete. He enjoyed playing basketball and also played football and boxed.

MOSES LAKE — When the mail trucks arrived, the big truck started filling up fast. Not with mail — the truck belonged to the Moses Lake Food Bank, and the mail carriers collected food donations from along their routes as part of the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive.

The concert, which includes a silent and live auction, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Moses Lake Presbyterian Church, 1142 West Ivy Ave. This will be the 12th annual concert with dessert.
