Four Mavs sign for women's college soccer

MOSES LAKE – Moses Lake Mavericks Liliana Savala, Samantha Escamilla, Maite Betes and Beth Ribellia signed their letters of intent to play college soccer Tuesday evening on Lions Field. Liliana and Samantha Escamilla will be signing with Green River Community College while Maite and Beth will sign with Columbia Basin College. “I went to go see the campus and I loved the campus,” said Savala on Green River CC. “I absolutely love the environment; it felt basically like a second home to my actual home.”

Wahluke soccer celebrates strong 18-4 season

MATTAWA – The Wahluke Warriors soccer team ended their 2025 season with an overall record of 18-4. They also were the number one team in the South-Central Athletic Conference and earned third place in the district tournament. “The expectation was for everyone to have a good season together,” said Warriors head coach Cele Lopez. “To have fun and for the seniors to enjoy the last opportunity they had to compete with the school, and it came out pretty good.”

According to Freewind Manager and Assistant Instructor Brandi Guertin, the seminars were a success. “I'm really happy about the success. MOSES LAKE – Local BMX rider, Alli Kay Tatum, recently competed in the Union Cycliste Internationale BMX Racing World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. For her first time traveling internationally for BMX, Tatum said it went smoothly. “Overall, it was super organized, my first time there it was a totally different experience, but they had (the track) laid out and really organized,” she said.
