Shulenberger earns win No. 100 as Cougs beat Vandals
PULLMAN – The Washington State Cougar soccer team (2-1) defeated the Idaho Vandals, 2-1, Sunday night at Lower Soccer Field to give Head Coach Todd Shulenberger his 100th career win. Seniors Jenna Studer and Julianna Duckett each scored their first goal of the season to secure the win.
Lind council rescinds vote to vacate Mayor’s position
LIND – The Lind Town Council voted 4-0 Tuesday to approve motions by council member Robert Dew to rescind the council’s April 23 votes to vacate Mayor Paula Bell’s position and appoint council member Jamie Schmunk as temporary mayor. Council member Mike Wold was absent. Dew said that he had previously believed the votes to be legal, but has since heard conflicting opinions on the subject.

Lind facing unbudgeted expenses, errors and $1.7 million loan
LIND – The Lind Town Council dealt with several issues during Tuesday’s regular meeting, including about $40,000 in unbudgeted expenses due to clerical errors dating back to 2008, other staff errors and a $1.7 million loan offered by the Department of Health.

MOSES LAKE — The Joann Fabric and Crafts location in Moses Lake is one of 21 stores that will be closing as the company continues bankruptcy proceedings. WA foam packaging ban goes into effect Saturday
(The Center Square) – That container of leftovers from your favorite restaurant may look different starting Saturday when the sale and distribution of expanded polystyrene, or EPS, products in or into Washington state is prohibited. Polystyrene foam is better known by the brand-name Styrofoam.
