Robert H. Dehnel
Robert H. (Bob) Dehnel lost his battle to cancer and heart disease on Nov. 12, 2008 in Moses Lake. He was born in Ritzville on June 1, 1922 to Albert and Lena (Wellsandt) Dehnel. His parents and his brothers Edwin and Vernon preceded him in death. His sister Florence Kiehn resides in Moses Lake. Bob is survived by his wife Velma. They were married in the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville in 1945. They have four children, Rodney, Valeria (Bob) Wiitala of Ritzville, Randy in Moses Lake and Donald who lives in Seattle. He has five grandchildren, Troy, Marcy, Donovan, C.J. and Randy Jr., and eight great-grandchildren. Robert grew up on the family farm south of Ralston. He graduated from Ritzville High School in 1940. He continued farming for a few years after he married his wife Velma Schutz on Oct. 28, 1945. He then went to work at Pete's Garage for 16 years where, many times he was known to open his home to travelers with children, when they were broke down and stranded. He moved to Seattle in 1966. He retired from Seattle City Light on June 1, 1985 and moved back to Moses Lake. Shortly after retirement, Bob lost his eyesight to macular degeneration, limiting his retirement dreams. Robert loved the game of baseball. As a young man, he played several years for the Ralston "Rabbits" and Marcellus Grange. He also helped coach Little League Baseball and often played the game with his children and the neighbors. He was an avid fisherman who took his family on many camping trips. He enjoyed bowling and was in a Ritzville league for many years. Bob was active in Boy Scouts with his sons, and for a time was the Scout Master. While living in Moses Lake he volunteered for many community activities and helping the less fortunate. He was a member of the Lutheran Church in Ritzville. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE) in Ritzville and Moses Lake. Lula Mae Gilbert
Lula Mae Gilbert was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Arcadia, Utah, to Franklin and Hattie Mae (Todd) Horrocks. She was the youngest of seven children, brothers: Ray Horrocks, Clarence Horrocks, LaVon Horrocks and Grant Horrocks and two sisters, Bessie Feitkau and Ida Foy. She lived in Arcadia most of her life, a small farming community in eastern Utah. The Gilbert family also lived in Arcadia, so Glen has known her since she was 4 or 5. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1938.

Raymond Lee Burkett
Raymond Lee Burkett, 61, Othello, Washington passed away February 12, 2010 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 2, 1948 in Porter, Oklahoma to Randolph and Elsie (Buster) Burkett. His family immediately moved to California to work in the crops that were ready for harvest. The family moved a lot so he wasn't able to finish his secondary education. Later in life he had a strong desire to finish his education. He attended Big Bend Community College, Moses Lake, Washington to successfully earn his G.E.D. Raymond and Janet were married November 18, 1967 in Sayre, Oklahoma. They first met in a cotton field in California when Janet was fourteen and Raymond was sixteen. Three years passed before they tied the knot. Born to this union were two daughters Cynthia and Sandy. Raymond and Janet had 42 wonderful years together. A few years after their marriage they traveled to Othello to work picking cherries and later apples. When they first arrived they camped and later moved into town. In 1973 Raymond began working for Kent Farms, then McKay farms and later for Darrell Dixson. He eventually begin working for Land of Lakes and after 25 years he retired. Raymond took a job with Adams County Consolidated Waste for a few years after retiring from Land of Lakes. During his growing up years Raymond loved to climb trees. Later some of his main interests were hunting, fishing, skeet shooting and playing on the Land of Lakes softball team. He especially enjoyed flowers, roses and zinnias were his favorite. He loved watching the Hummingbirds when they gathered by their porch. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, brother LeRoy and sister Barbara.

Arleen Ardelle Schiller
Arleen Ardelle Schiller was born Sept. 1, 1908, in Victoria, BC and died peacefully at Sunbridge Nursing Care Facility on Tues., Feb. 8, 2006. Arleen was a 51-year resident of Moses Lake, WA and beloved wife, of 59 years, to Percy Schiller, currently in NJ. She was a devoted mother to son & daughter-in-law, Neil & Susan Schiller of Point Pleasant, NJ and daughter, Anita Nelson, of Belfair, WA. She was the adored grandmother of Wayne, Eric, & Larry Schiller, and Amy Edwards, and great-grandmother of Drew Schiller & Jake Edwards, all of NJ. She was also a loving aunt to Joellen Wolfe of Belfair, WA; Bob Bluhm, of AZ; Marilyn Harris, and Bill & John Kaye all of the Seattle area. Benson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements; a private memorial will be held. Ruben Gonzales
1959 - 2010
Ruben Gonzales 50, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, January 26th, 2010 at home surrounded by family members. A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday February 5th, 2010 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and also Saturday February 6th, 2010 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at Donelson Fir Lawn Memorial Center 1070 W. Main Street Hillsboro, Oregon 97123. Funeral Services will be held immediately following the Saturday viewing at the same location. Ruben was born on April 21, 1959 in Mt. Vernon, Washington the youngest son of Jesus and Isidora Gonzales. Ruben was raised in Washington, spent most of his life in Oregon, and completed his life in Idaho. He Married Julie Backman on September 6, 1980 and together they have three children and two grandsons. Ruben was a dedicated and loving dad and his family was the single most important part of his life. His greatest joy other than his family was the 30 years he spent in the oil industry. He held positions at Union 76, Shell Oil Company and most recently completed his climb up the corporate ladder as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Jackson Oil Company. Throughout the 29 years of marriage Ruben moved his family 11times and had many great experiences. Some of Ruben’s favorite experiences were spending time with his grandsons, driving his corvette, enjoying good times with friends, and always being the first out on the dance floor with his wife Julie. Ruben is survived by his wife of 29 years Julie, his three children Cacye and her husband Jerry, Adam and his wife Khrinda, R. Zachary Gonzales and his two grandsons Jackson and Jacoby. He is also survived by his father Jesus, siblings Maria, Jesus Jr, and Roberto and there families. Ruben was preceded in death by his mother Isidora Gonzales. Marion C. Spence
Marion C. Spence was born on March 12, 1918 in Omaha, Nebraska to immigrant parents Simon B. Epstein and Adele Marcus Epstein. She died at the age of nearly 93. Marion was born the year that 6% of the world's population died during an influenza epidemic and as World War 1 was winding down. Her family moved to southern California when she was a young girl. She has seen many changes in the world during her lifetime. Marion was a "City Girl" most of her life until she moved to Royal City nearly 10 years ago to live with her daughter and son in law, Dwain and Marilyn Forester. Marion married her husband, James William Spence, during the depths of the depression. He preceded her death in 1979. She is survived by her children, afore mentioned daughter Marilyn, Donna Johnson of Star Idaho and James William Spence Jr of Redding, California, and her brother Elliott Epstein of San Jose, California. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jay S. Estern. She has 12 grandchildren and a great many great and great great grandchildren. Marion was a stay at home mom, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and community volunteer until both girls married within one month of each other in 1959. She then went to work and worked until her retirement form the Social Security Administration at age 68.
William Harold Reedy
William Harold Reedy was born in Tulare, California on August 2, 1919 to William Albert and Arna Malina Reedy. Harold had three half-brothers and one half sister. He passed away on August 26, 2014 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington following a four year battle with bladder cancer.

Conrad Leroy Stephens
Conrad went to his eternal home on the morning of November 5, 2011. He died peacefully at home after having a great week with his children. Conrad was born on March 5, 1921 at Elizabeth, Arkansas to Henry and Violet Stephens. He attended schools in Elizabeth, served in the CC camps in southern Arkansas for 2 years, where he continued his education. He left the CC camps to work with his Dad and brothers in sawmills in Elizabeth. He married his sweetheart of 3 months, Nora Mae McCormack of Melbourne, Arkansas, on January 25, 1941. He joined the Navy during World War II in 1945. He was medically discharged that same year due to a heart murmer which would follow him allthe rest of his life. Their first child was born in Arkansas. Work brought them to Washington, then to California where their second son was born, then back to Washington where their daughter was born. Conrad worked in the Okanogan Valley for a number of years in the fruit and lumber businesses. He operated service stations in Spokane and Othello and then worked as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He spent his life serving the Lord and was currently an active member of the Church of Christ in Ephrata, WA. In his earlier years he enjoyed working with youth groups, and has served as an Elder and Deacon in the Church of Christ in Spokane and Othello. His passion was his family and felt blessed with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to whom he cheerfully referred to himself as "Grandpa the Great".
Kathleen Louise Moore Mason
Kathleen Louise Moore Mason, age 70, of Royal City, WA. passed away on March 13, 2014 surrounded by her family at her home in Royal City. Kathleen was born to Ernest and Catherine (Harris) Moore on February 20, 1944 in Sunnyside, WA., the seventh of fifteen children. She had a wonderful childhood, with lots of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and neighborhood children to play and fight with. Since there wasn't much money during Kathleen's childhood, the family became innovative in ways to have fun. Kathleen had many fond memories of attending school, participating in the 4-H Club, attending and singing in the Methodist Church choir, under the direction of Lily Jeffords. She also recalls the hard work that had to be done on the family farm.
Edward R. Cruver
Edward R. Cruver, Pullman, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Whitman Senior Living. He was 94. A Memorial Service will be planned for later this spring at St. Martins Episcopal Church in Moses Lake. Edward was born November 30, 1918 in Moscow, Idaho. He graduated from Central Valley High School in Spokane and went to work for The Crescent Department Store there. He met his future wife, Virginia Aucutt, while both were attending a church youth group function. They married and made their home in Seattle. Virginia was an elementary school teacher in Washougal and Edward worked as an aircraft mechanic for the U.S. Navy Ship Yard and also at Boeing. Through his years of hard work and dedicated service Edward rose to the level of inspector and would check the work of the other mechanics. They lived in Alameda, Calif. for a few years before moving to Moses Lake, Wash. in the mid-1950s. She continued to teach and Edward worked on the planes at Larson Air Force Base. Following retirement from his mechanics work, he was the warehouse manager for the Moses Lake School District for nearly twenty years. He was an excellent golfer and loved to golf whenever he could. He and Virginia were also members of the Moses Lake Sandy Sam's Club and took their Airstream camper on many camp-outs and as "snowbirds" for many winters to Desert Hot Springs, California for over twenty years. Edward's pride and joy was his yard at their home along Moses Lake. Virginia died in 2001 and in 2011 Edward moved to Pullman, Wash. to be closer to family. He is survived by a son Patrick and his wife Christiana of Pullman; daughter Cherie and her husband Paul Zehm of Oakesdale, WA.; 4 grandchildren, Emmett Cruver, Pullman, Micah Cruver, Portland, OR., Steven Zehm, Yakima, WA. and Jessica Parks, Alaska; one great-grandson, Alex Parks; and his former daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Cruver, Pullman. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson Tye Cruver in 2007, 2 brothers and 1 sister. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to St. Martins Episcopal Church in Moses Lake. Genaro Gonzalez, 87, of Othello, Washington, passed away after a long battle of cancer on August 13, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Washington, as he went to be in the Presence of our Lord.
