FRESH NEWS: Fishing update from MarDon Resort

The current water level on Potholes Reservoir is 1,032.5 feet, dropping another 1.9 feet this week. The water temperature is in the upper 70s on the main reservoir. The water temperatures in the sand dunes are in the mid-80s. Walleye fishing has been fair this week. The walleye are in 5-20 feet right now. Fish the shallower fish in the sand dunes with No. 5 Flicker Shads – trolled, jerk baits, flukes, swim baits and lipless crank baits. Fish the deeper fish with a Slow Death Hook-Smile Bade rig with a crawler and bottom bouncer. Fish the main channels back in the sand dunes, Crab Creek and the face of the dunes. Fish tight to weed lines! It is an early morning bite, slowing down around 10 a.m. The walleye will be moving out towards the face of the dunes soon as the water is getting low and the baitfish begin to move out.

The current water level on Potholes Reservoir is 1030.4 feet – rising 1.8 feet this week. We are currently 3.9 feet above low pool. The water temperature is in the upper 50s on the main reservoir. The water temps in the sand dunes are in upper 50s to low 60s. Use extreme caution while running in the sand dunes, the face of the dunes and between Goose Island and the face of the dam. There are a lot of hazards that are just under the surface and not visible to the boater.

Vantage opens final facility at Quincy data center

QUINCY — Vantage Data Centers’ Quincy campus is finally complete, according to an announcement from the company. Vantage held a ribbon-cutting Wednesday at its third and final Quincy facility, dubbed WA13, with local leaders in attendance, according to the announcement. The 530,000-square-foot facility adds 64 megawatts of IT capacity to the 68-acre campus, now totaling 89 megawatts across nearly 775,000 square feet and three facilities. The new WA13, in accordance with Vantage’s “sustainable by design” principles, included a number of green features, a closed-loop air-cooled chiller system and Tier 4 generators to reduce particulate and nitric oxide emissions among them.

David G. Finlay, 80, of Moses Lake, Washington, passed away on Feb. 20, 2023, at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake with his daughter at his side. He was well taken care of by the ICU doctors and staff. David was born on Nov. 6, 1942, in Salida, Colorado and grew up in the Sacramento area of California. David was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Charlene Finlay. David is survived by his brother Wes Finlay, sister-in-law Pat Finlay, daughter Rudeen Larsen, son-in-law Doug Larsen, granddaughter Racyna Henson and her husband Caleb Henson, two great-grandchildren Ryker and Mayzi Henson and uncles, aunts and cousins from the Boring family.
