Sen. Warnick: Collaborate to resolve bond issue

My office has been receiving many inquiries about the recent Moses Lake School District bond situation, asking me what I can do concerning the voter-approved bond. This is not necessarily a state issue. However, I am a voter, a concerned citizen, and a grandmother of school-aged children in the Moses Lake School District. I am also the state senator representing Moses Lake with a duty to help decide the best direction for children all over our state.

Judy (Judith) Kay Johnson

Judy (Judith) Kay Johnson was born in Bronson, Kansas on July 25, 1940 to Elva G. Murrow and James "Sam" Reynolds. She was their only child and the light of their lives. She moved with her parents from Kansas to Ellensburg, Washington in 1947. She attended elementary school in Ellensburg before moving to Moses Lake, Washington. She attended schools in Moses Lake and graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1958. Judy was very active in school, from cheerleading to baton twirling. She met Tom M. Johnson in high school and they were married February 28, 1959. Judy and Tom had three children, Dana (Todd) of Maple Valley, Washington, Mikki of Moses Lake, and Joey, who preceded her in death. Judy was the happiest being with her kids, which included the Moses Lake Legion Baseball Team for 16-18 year olds. She was the scorekeeper, the team mom, and the confident. You could always go to Judy for help, and she always had some advice. She passed away April 13, 2012 with her daughter Mikki by her side. Judy is also survived by her grandchildren Whitnie, Sam, Darin, and Travis, and a great grandson Sammy. Judy fought a gallant struggle with Alzheimer's and her family is very grateful for the wonderful care she received at Summerwood Alzheimer's Care Unit in Moses Lake. There will be a service at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on May 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association.
