Loera earns Big Sky Player of the Week

Loera earned the award after a week where she carried Eastern Washington to a pair of wins and extended the team's record-breaking win streak to nine games.

Born December 31, 1920, in Blue Hills, Nebraska, Howard passed away February 14, 2012, in Liberty Lake, Washington. He graduated from high school in Kapowsin, WA, in 1938. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1940, serving in Electron, WA. He then became a ship fitter from 1941 to 1944 in Bremerton, WA. He served in the US Army from 1944 to 1946 before attending WSC in Pullman, WA, graduating in 1951 with a BS in Agriculture. He taught Voc Ag in Dayton, WA, for one year before moving to Moses Lake, WA, where he taught Voc Ag from 1952 to his retirement in 1976. Howard was a long time member of the Methodist Church; he was an FFA advisor, and member of the Kiwanis of Moses Lake.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Wildlife managers are offering an up to $2,000 reward for information about the illegal killing of a grizzly bear in central Wyoming.
Feds charge two in drug case
SPOKANE — Two men have been indicted in eastern Washington in connection with seized drugs, firearms and commercial pill presses, according to an announcement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Washington. Timothy Gary Maddox was indicted by a federal grand jury on 10 felony counts, and Nicholas Bruan Adams on seven felony counts, according to the announcement. One of the pill presses seized by investigators is the first known commercial press associated with illegal fentanyl manufacturing in the district, according to the announcement. The presses are believed to be able to produce thousands of pills per hour.
