Moses Lake man arrested for DUI, faces additional charges

MOSES LAKE — Charges are pending against a 19-year-old Moses Lake man who rolled his car Saturday night and allegedly broke into the business where his car was towed to retrieve some of his belongings Sunday afternoon. Because no criminal charges have been filed yet, the man's name has not been released, said Moses Lake Police Chief Kevin Fuhr. The accident occurred about 11 p.m. Saturday on West Gary Street, according to information released Monday by the Moses Lake Police Department. The man rolled his car and was transported to Samaritan Hospital for further evaluation. While at the hospital he was taken into custody for DUI, but not arrested due to the injuries he sustained in the accident, Fuhr said. His car was towed. The man talked to police officers about 6 a.m. Sunday, asking where his car was. Police officers told him it had been transported to a towing yard. The man allegedly went to the tow business sometime Sunday and climbed the fence, going to his car to retrieve some items. An employee of the tow yard stopped him at the time, but didn’t report the incident until later in the day.
