MOSES LAKE – On Thursday, the Ephrata Tigers stormed Lions Field and brought home an overtime victory against the Mavericks. After a scoreless game in regulation, the Tigers’ fate would be decided by goalkeeper Airan Valle. The Tigers secured the victory after holding their own in penalty kicks 4-2. “I'm just like, ‘Okay, let's stay calm, and let's just save these goals,’” Valle said.

MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Mavericks regained a home game on their schedule Friday after air quality shifted their away game against Wenatchee to Lions Field. Grabbing ahold of the home-field advantage, the Mavs showed off their strength with a 56-0 victory over the Panthers. “We had a rough week and then we came out and balled,” said Mavs receiver Carter Anderson.

EPHRATA – The North Central Washington Library District is making strides towards the remodeling of several public library facilities across the region, but delays in the Ephrata Library renovations have raised questions about the timeline of future projects. The project, according to Supervising Librarian Aaron Loeffelbein, was supposed to start at the beginning of 2026. However, the district is now expecting a start date closer to March or April of 2026.

Washington state drivers could see some relief at the gas pump this fall

(The Center Square) – Motorists in Washington state – home to some of the highest gas prices in the nation – could see some relief from spiking fuel prices this fall, due to various factors. According to AAA, the average price of standard, or regular grade, gas in Washington is $4.598 per gallon as of Wednesday afternoon, up from last week’s $4.657. However, prices have increased substantially compared to last year, when gas was $4.101.

MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Jr Mavs had another successful day of football last Saturday, with each team that played at home earning a win. The fourth, fifth and seventh-grade teams all hosted at Lions Field. “Our fourth-grade boys played another tough game and were the most physical team,” said fourth-grade head coach Josh Herrod. “It’s fun watching their growth and progression. Everything we’ve thrown at them; they’ve been able to handle so far. We’ve worked hard on winning at the snap on both sides and you can see the progress.”
