NYC mayor takes heat after lashing out at Jewish funeral

NEW YORK (AP) — New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio defended his tweets criticizing a large Orthodox Jewish funeral. Gov. Andrew Cuomo said daily deaths are down but still “disgustingly high.” Front-line health care workers and first responders will be mass tested for antibodies.

Shelby lone Mortensen

Shelby lone Mortensen, 69, went home to be with her loved ones in Heaven on Nov. 14, 2007. She was bom in Aitkin, Minn., on March 30,1938, to Murel L. and Erma Cartie Pratt. Shelby is survived by her sister Jackie of Klamath Falls, Ore., her brother, Chuck, of Weiser, Idaho and one half-sister; her sons, David and Larry, and her daughters, Rochelle, Melissa, and Theresa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her life companion, Clyde Crow. Her parents, one sister and her son, Monte who died in infancy, precede her in death. Shelby worked at Carnation in Moses Lake for 25 years. All who knew her will miss her. A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Arrangements are in care of Benson Family Funeral Service, Chapel, Cemetery and Crematory.

Jordan McKay Washburn, (the third, as he liked to call himself), forever bound by eternal covenant and love to his wife, Brianna; parents, Daniel and Bonnie Washburn; brothers, Ethan (Melissa), Kimball (Jessica), Greg (Lesley), Neil (Penny), Colin, and Shane, exuberantly graced this world with a sense of adventure, curiosity, faith, hope, and courage, from March 16, 1982 to May 10, 2008.

Violeta S. Cifuentes was born in Los Angeles, California on June 30, 1972 and passed away at her home in Moses Lake on January 3, 2012. Violeta is survived by her father, Uriel Serrano, and two brothers, Jose and Cerilo Serrano, all of Moses Lake. Violeta is preceded in death by her mother, Belen, and her daughter, Rosemary. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Stake Center, 1515 S Division Street, Moses Lake, at 11:00AM. A viewing will be held prior to the service beginning at 10 AM and the service will be followed by interment at Pioneer Memorial Gardens, 14403 Rd 2 NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made at American West Bank. Arrangements are in care of Susan Freeman at Pioneer Memorial Services, Moses Lake.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Dorothy Skinner of Spokane; sons Dave (Jo) Skinner of Moscow, ID and Greg (Monica) Skinner of Spokane; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
