Lady Vikings extend win streak to 10 with gritty win over Spokane Falls
MOSES LAKE - Looking to make it 10 wins in a row, Big Bend Community College hosted the Spokane Falls Sasquatch on Wednesday, February 19th, at the DeVries Activity Center. The Lady Vikes came out swinging in the first quarter, establishing an early lead by knocking down 41% of their shots and playing elite defense. They held Spokane to just 20% from the floor and finished the opening 10 minutes with a commanding 16-8 lead.
Tippett scores two goals as Flyers beat Kraken 5-2
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Owen Tippett scored twice and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Seattle Kraken 5-2 on Monday night. Travis Konecny, Tyson Foerster and Noah Cates also scored, Cam York had three assists and Sean Couturier added two as Philadelphia won for the third time in four games. Dan Vladar finished with 21 saves. Jordan Eberle and Jani Nyman scored for Seattle, which snapped a season-opening five-game point streak (3-0-2). Joey Daccord gave up all five goals on 21 shots through two periods, and Philipp Grubaouer had six saves in the third.
Washington State Patrol plans emphasis patrol around Gorge Amphitheater
QUINCY — The Washington State Patrol will be conducting additional patrols in the area around the Gorge Amphitheater this weekend, the first of a number of “High Visibility Enforcement” patrols scheduled over the summer. Jeremy Weber, WSP District 6 public information officer, said the goal is to ensure people get where they’re going and back home without incident.

It is that time of year again. The falling leaves and the yard waste is insurmountable I know, but, please find another option for discarding versus burning. When you have a large pile of wet leaves and twigs smoldering for hours, it literally fouls the air for hours and makes it almost impossible to take a deep breathe. Please think of others that may not have the benefits of health that you obviously enjoy.
