Police: Box truck rear-ends school bus, 1 dead, 7 injured

ALMA, Ga. (AP) — A box truck rear-ended a school bus that had stopped Wednesday to unload students in rural southeast Georgia, leaving at least six students and the bus driver injured, police said. Authorities said the injured truck driver died later in a hospital.

Collision kills driver near Quincy

QUINCY — Adams Road near Quincy was closed for about three and a half hours Wednesday afternoon due to a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The car’s driver was killed in the crash. The collision occurred at about 12:45 p.m., according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, between Road 5 Northwest and Road 6 Northwest. The driver’s name was withheld pending notification of family members, said Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer. The case is still under investigation.

Man airlifted after crash near Soap Lake

SOAP LAKE — A Moses Lake man suffered serious injuries in a collision near Soap Lake Wednesday night, according to statements from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Grant County Fire District 7. Devon White, 22, was driving a 2010 Ford Taurus west on Road 20 Northeast at about 10:30 p.m. when he lost control of the car near the 3900 block, according to the GCSO. The car struck a gravel driveway, became airborne, landed, struck a rock pillar and a wooden fence and came to rest in the ditch.
