CITY OF MOSES LAKE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that public hearings will be held before the MOSES LAKE PLANNING COMMISSION on Nov. 10 and the MOSES LAKE CITY COUNCIL on Dec. 13. Both hearings will be at 7:00 p.m. at Civic Center located at 401 S. Balsam, and will consider the following: Comprehensive Plan amendments and rezones, including the following: a. Amend the Transportation Element to update data and projects. b. Amend the Utilities Element to update data and projects. c. David G. Finlay
David G. Finlay, 80, of Moses Lake, Washington, passed away on Feb. 20, 2023, at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake with his daughter at his side. He was well taken care of by the ICU doctors and staff. David was born on Nov. 6, 1942, in Salida, Colorado and grew up in the Sacramento area of California. David was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Charlene Finlay. David is survived by his brother Wes Finlay, sister-in-law Pat Finlay, daughter Rudeen Larsen, son-in-law Doug Larsen, granddaughter Racyna Henson and her husband Caleb Henson, two great-grandchildren Ryker and Mayzi Henson and uncles, aunts and cousins from the Boring family.

Delmar "Del" Parrott, born in Lindsay, Calif., on Oct. 4, 1930, passed away Aug. 14, 2007, in Soap Lake having moved to Washington state in 1963.

AN ORDINANCE of the City of Moses Lake, Washington, providing for the issuance and sale of limited tax general obligation bonds of the City in the principal amount of $6,100,000 to provide funds for various downtown improvements, ice skating rink, flowrider/lazy river for the aquatic center and maintenance facility for the Parks and Recreation Department; providing the date, form, terms and maturities of said bonds; authorizing a preliminary official statement; providing for the disposition of the proceeds of sale; and approving the sale of such bonds.

Vernon Miner
Vernon Fred Miner passed away at the age of 59 in Moses Lake. Vern was born December 4, 1951 and raised in Warden, Washington graduated from Warden High School and worked at Basin American Foods from 1973 until 2010 mostly in plant maintenance. Vern is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and June Miner. He is survived by his wife, Mary (St. John) of Moses Lake, a daughter Jennifer (Andre') Roybal, grandsons Drake and Devon, a sister, Dorthy Evans and a brother Rick Miner of Lincoln City, OR, a brother Terry Miner of Warden and nieces, Tara and Satin Miner of Moses Lake. Vern and Mary enjoyed traveling; their favorite destinations were to Las Vegas and to the ocean for whale watching.

Jerry Lee Jolley, 61, passed away in Columbia Crest Care and Rehabilitation Center, May 3, 2012. Jerry was born January 3, 1951 in Soap Lake, Washington to Joseph Isom Jolley and Betty Lou (Bentz) Jolley.
Othello man, 90, dies in car crash
MOSES LAKE — An elderly man died Thursday, Aug. 8, as the result of a two-car collision about two miles south of Moses Lake at Highway 17 and Potato Frontage Road, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Accident causes manure spill, minor injuries
SOAP LAKE - A smelly situation occurred Tuesday afternoon when a semi-truck carrying manure tipped over, spilling the manure into a ditch. Just two miles east of Soap Lake a single vehicle, minor injury collision occurred when a semi-truck carrying manure swerved to miss a couple of dogs on the road. The driver of the semi was traveling on State Route 28 when he swerved right to avoid the dogs and then rode the ditch before the truck tipped on its side, spilling the dung beside the roadway.. Soap Lake Police Department assisted Washington State Patrol on the scene. SR 28 was closed for a short time to remove the semi and clean up the spill.
