CALL FOR BIDS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Board of Port Commissioners of Port of Warden, Washington that sealed bids will be received until 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 13th, 2018, at one of the following locations: At the Port of Warden Office 605 West 1st Street Warden, WA 98857. DATE OF OPENING OF BID: The Bids will be opened and publicly read shortly after 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 13th, 2018 Port of Warden, West 1st Street Warden, WA 98857. Information for Bidders: The project provides new railroad auxiliary tracks and related civil work at the port of Warden in Grant County. The work consists of construction of approximately 4,900 feet new railroad auxiliary track including, earthwork (totaling approximately 17,500 CY), and base materials totaling approximately 3,200 CY), ballasted track, two each turnouts (one of which is a connecting turnout installed into existing track), one each sliding derail, two each earthen bumpers, approximately 1500 linear feet of walkway, and 32 track feet of timber grade crossing, using primarily contractor supplied materials. Ted LeRoy Smith, 82, Moses Lake resident, died on November 22, 2011. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, during his fight against lung cancer.
MLSD's McKay going to North Central ESD
MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake School District’s (MLSD) current executive director of teaching and learning, Linda McKay, was recently hired as the North Central Educational Service District’s (ESD) new assistant superintendent of teaching and learning. She will be leaving her post in the MLSD in July.
Local officers to be honored for bravery
MOSES LAKE — Five law enforcement officers from the Basin will be honored for their bravery in last year’s shooting at the Gorge Campground, according to an announcement from the Moses Lake Police Department. Det. Edgar Salazar, Det. Sgt. Kyle McCain, Det. Corp. Omar Ramirez and Officer Curt Ledeboer, of the MLPD, and Grant County Sheriff’s Office Det. Korey Judkins will receive the Washington State Medal of Honor for Exceptionally Meritorious Conduct in the Performance of Duty in a ceremony May 3 in Olympia, the announcement said. On June 17, 2023, the five detectives were working undercover at a concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre when a man, later identified as 26-year-old James M. Kelly, began shooting in the campground, killing two women and injuring three others, the MLPD wrote in the announcement. Kelly then took a captive female with him out into a field, where he continued to abuse her.

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Dale Ploghoft on August 8th, 2022, in Bellingham, WA, after a difficult but short battle with cancer. He was 78 years old. At the time of his passing, Larry was a resident of Blaine, Washington. A memorial service will take place in November in Moses Lake, WA, which will be his final resting place. Larry was born in Bellingham, Washington on September 4th, 1944, to Mary Sheerer (Johnson) and Dale Ploghoft. He was raised in Bellingham and attended Bellingham schools. He married Judy Montague on July 20th,1963, in Moses Lake, WA, and they had two children, Brian and Mark. They were married for 59 years...
Max R. Trowbridge
Max R. Trowbridge, 81 of Moses Lake passed away Monday, March 22 with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 27, 1929 in Wexford County, MI to his parents, Grace and Charlie Trowbridge. Michigan is where he lived most of his life. He married his one true love, Leah, on October 16th, 1948, and they had a true adventure together.
