Democratic Gov. Evers won't be in Capitol for Pence visit

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to make possibly the first visit by a sitting vice president or president inside Wisconsin’s state Capitol building in its 103-year history, but Democratic Gov. Tony Evers won’t be in his office just a few feet away when it happens.

Helen Marie Moser Bishop passed away on Nov. 29, 2014, in Vancouver, Washington, at the age of 98. Born in Bruce, Alberta, Canada to Alex and Frances Moser, she and her family moved to Colton, Washington, when she was a year old. She attended schools in Colton and married Gilbert (Gib) Bishop on Sept. 5, 1942. They spent their early years in Olympia before moving back to Colton and then to Moses Lake in 1967.

Longtime Moses Lake resident Elizabeth (Betty) Holben passed away peacefully on December 9 at the age of 98. She is survived by five children: Cynthia Holben, Sylvia Allen, Kirk Holben, Bruce Holben, and Katherine Hogan. Her husband Melvin and son Marcus preceded her in death. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
