MOSES LAKE – Both the city of Moses Lake and Grant County have agreed to fund up to $1 million each for a new animal shelter for Grant County Animal Outreach. While planning is underway for the new facility which will be located near the Grant County Fairgrounds, the current shelter is currently above capacity. The pets shown here were listed as being up for adoption and available as of November 16. Animal lovers in a position to adopt may want to consider these animals or others currently in the care of the shelter. Additionally, the shelter is in need of volunteers and other resources. To volunteer, including possibly fostering a dog or cat, contact the shelter by visiting their website at grantcountyanimaloutreach.org or by phone at 509-762-9616.

MOSES LAKE – North Central Washington Libraries staff said they were surprised by Moses Lake City Council’s actions requiring the removal of the Narcan vending machine from the Moses Lake Public Library in late March. NCW Deputy Director for Public Services Kim Neher said the machine being installed wasn’t an initiative spearheaded by the library district, but rather something the city had approached them about.

QUINCY – On Friday, the Quincy Jacks (1-4) fell short at home to the Prosser Mustangs 35-7. Despite the loss, Head Coach Seth Longwill said he still came away proud of his players. “Prosser has been a powerhouse since the 80s. For us to go out there and battle, I thought the kids played their tails off, I was extremely happy and proud of their performance,” Longwill said.

It has a nice dark green color,” co-owner Mark Kallstrom said. “The weather started out cool, but it warmed up just enough; we got the heat units to bring it out a couple of days earlier.”

MOSES LAKE — A free dental clinic next month will fill a need that often goes overlooked. “The thing that everybody (wants) is dentistry, because that’s the thing they can’t access,” said Linda Morgan, who organizes the clinic every year for the Moses Lake Seventh-day Adventist Church. “A lot of dentists will not accept Medicaid. It’s very, very hard to get in. That’s why dentistry is so needed.”
