Decision delayed on condemnation proceedings along proposed power line route

EPHRATA — Grant County Public Utility District commissioners will delay a decision on beginning condemnation proceedings for property along the route of a projected power line between Wanapum Dam and Quincy for six weeks. Commissioners voted to table a resolution that would’ve started the condemnation proceedings at the April 8 meeting, following testimony from residents along the proposed route.

COULEE CITY — The Almira/Coulee-Hartline Warriors softball team took home two wins when they hosted the Omak Pioneers. In game one they were victorious 10-6. In game two they built on their momentum, winning 11-2 and moving to five wins on the season. The approach to the doubleheader was influenced by the Warriors' loss to Brewster, and Head Coach Faye Butler saw that her players became very motivated. “The next day in practice, the girls were like, ‘We need to practice harder, Coach.’ And I was like, ‘All right, let's practice harder.’ One thing I've been trying to hammer in these girls this year is resilience, so yeah, we got into it, and they were pumped,” she said.
