Columbia Basin Herald Carrier Jessie Menchaca has been delivering papers in Moses Lake for nearly 21 years. He said the customers are his favorite part of the job. He said many of them wait for him in the mornings to have a conversation with him as he delivers their paper.

MOSES LAKE — At 3 a.m., most of Moses Lake is quiet. Streetlights cast pools of light onto empty roads. Businesses are dark. The only traffic comes from the occasional semi-truck, an early-morning commuter or a deer wandering near the edge of town.
