ELECTRIC CITY — Summer is just around the corner and there are a million and one things to do, but not all of the adventures you choose have to be expensive or far away.
Steamboat Rock State Park, located in the northern half of Grant County, offers a variety of outdoor opportunities for fun. Activities include biking, boating, camping, bird walking, hiking, fishing and others in one of the most beautiful locations in the Columbia Basin.
The park offers campsites that are accessible for those with disabilities, restrooms, a fire pit, an automated pay station for admission, a creek, fresh water, lake access, meadows, picnic opportunities, a sandy beach and is a great place to find wildlife and flowers. Cabins are also available to rent.
A day pass is $10 and an annual pass is $45. Other items are available for rent or can be accessed for a small charge.
Parents will want to make sure they follow licensing rules while accessing the park to fish.
Steamboat Rock State Park is located at 51052 Highway 155 near Electric City. It opens at 6:30 a.m. and closes at dusk throughout the year.
