MLSD, OSPI spar over transgender athletics
Moses Lake School District Board Chair Kirryn Jensen stood by the board's recent letter indicating its intent to establish policies preventing transgender students from participating in girls sports.

During the regular March 5 Moses Lake School District board meeting, the board voted upon and agreed to send a letter to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the governor regarding athletic policies surrounding transgender athletes. The board has now received a response from OSPI.
MOSES LAKE – The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction has responded to a letter from the Moses Lake School District Board of Directors that was sent to State Superintendent Chris Reykdal with a copy addressed to Governor Bob Ferguson. The letter from MLSD addresses the issue of transgender athletes in girls sports.
